今天给大家分享的动词是stand与sit，只要学过英语，对这两个单词就一定不陌生，上课时老师经常说stand up，sit down，几乎每个学生都明白其含义；但关于stand 与 sit 的用法，在阅读理解中常出现其延伸含义，也是需要学生理解掌握的；
我们先学习stand的用法：
stands（三单）-standing（现在分词）-stood（过去式）-stood（过去分词）
stand在初中阶段主要有三种意思：
1、stand 译为 站立，起立，站起来
stand + 介词短语
stand up 站起来，起来
stand beside the window 站在窗户边
stand by the tree 站在树边
stand still 站着不动
（需要掌握，出现在阅读理解题型）
Mom told me to stand still.
妈妈让我站着别动。
stand for 代表，是...意思
What does "NBA" stand for?
NBA代表什么意思？
Jenny will stand for our class to give a talk.
珍妮将代表我们班去做报告。
2、stand 译为 位于，立于
此为其延伸含义，通常出现在阅读理解之中；
A big tree stood beside my house.
有棵大树位于我的房子旁边；
The tall building stands in front of the library.
这座高楼位于图书馆前面。
3、stand 译为 忍受
cant stand sth./doing 受不了...
（初二上重点短语）
I cant stand soap operas.
我受不了肥皂剧。
I cant stand waiting for a long time.
我受不了等太久。
stand用法总结：
三种意思：站立，位于，忍受
三个短语：stand still，stand for， cant stand doing.
再来看sit的用法：
sits（三单）-sitting（现在分词）-sat（过去式）-sat（过去分词）
sit在初中阶段只需要掌握其两种意思：
1、sit 译为 坐，坐下
用法与stand基本一致，sit + 介词短语
sit down 坐下
sit by the window 坐在窗户边
sit on the chair 坐在椅子上
sit still 坐着不动

2、sit 译为 坐落于，位于
此延伸含义也通常出现在阅读题型之中，需要灵活变通；
A box sits on the shelf.

The mountain sits behind the village.
