此图为八大作品中比较少见的题材，八大花鸟画的题材多为鱼、鸟、荷花，而桃实图在后来的海派作品中至为常见，因为桃实寓意多为祝寿之用，而八大作品多为“缘物抒情”之功用，所以桃实图很少见。
