　　奥利维尔·布兰查德，法国人，1948年生于法国，法国国籍，美国绿卡，在法国完成大学教育。奥利弗·布兰查德'是宏观经济学新凯恩斯主义学派经济学家，其著作《宏观经济学》已成为被世界上诸多经济学院校所选择的经典教材。

　　在巴黎第九大学和巴黎第十大学攻读经济学和数学，1972年他获得经济学学士。 
　　之后赴美留学，进入麻省理工学院经济系攻读博士。 
　　1977年获得经济学博士,博士导师是斯坦利.费希尔。 
　　1977年他在麻省理工学院经济系担任讲师； 
　　1977-1981年在哈佛大学经济系担任助理教授； 
　　1981-1983年在哈佛大学经济系担任副教授； 
　　1983-1985年在麻省理工学院经济系担任副教授； 
　　1985-1993年在麻省理工学院经济系担任正教授； 
　　1994年至今他是麻省理工学院经济系讲座教授（Class of 1941 Professor）。 
　　1998-2003年他是麻省理工学院经济系的系主任； 
　　2008年至今他是国际货币基金组织首席经济学家；

　　2002年至今，已有近三十位引文桂冠奖得主赢得了当年的诺贝尔奖。2016年，汤森路透根据其定量数据，将2016年经济学领域的引文桂冠奖颁发给了三位美国的经济学家奥利弗·布兰查德（Olivier Blanchard）、爱德华·拉齐尔（Edward Lazear）和马克·梅利兹（Marc Melitz）。 
　　法国人奥利弗·布兰查德在麻省理工学院（MIT）获得博士学位后先后任教于哈佛大学和MIT，现任美国华盛顿彼得森国际经济研究所高级研究员、MIT经济学系教授，并在经济危机最深重的2008至2015年间担任国际国币基金组织（IMF）的首席经济学家。奥利弗·布兰查德是宏观经济学新凯恩斯主义学派经济学家，其著作《宏观经济学》已成为被世界上诸多经济学院校所选择的经典教材。
